Martens footwear are distinct because of its air-cushioned
sole
often phrased as “bouncing soles” developed
by Dr. Klaus Maertens
of Germany.
The first Dr. Martens boots
appeared in the UK on April 1, 1960 and
by the late 1970s, Dr Martens boots were popular among
some
British punk rock and New Wave musicians, and soon many
punk
fans were wearing them. The boots and shoes then became
popular
among other youth subcultures.
